An axiomatization of generalized entropy of partitions

Abstract

A study on axiomatization of generalized entropy of partitions was performed. Havrada-Charvat entropy was yielded from the proposed axiomatization and provided axiomatization for the Shannon entropy and the Gini index used in classification and data mining. The results showed the common nature of several known ways of evaluating value concentrations of functions with the axiomatization of the generalized entropy.
