Abstract

Green chemistry has been poorly addressed by the battery community at large. This chapter describes the development of multivalent ion batteries and their adherence or lack thereof with green chemistry principles. The chapter concludes with a brief comparison of multivalent batteries to current lithium-ion batteries and future prospects.
